Montera is a loosely spun wintry yarn that works up beautifully at a variety of gauges. This set is an example of how a fabric knit at different gauges still gives perfect results for different uses. I worked the mittens on smaller needles than recommended to give a dense, blizzard-resistant fabric. However, I wanted the hat to have a more pliable fabric so I worked it with Montera’s recommended needle size.
Work the set in either one or two (or more!) colors. The simple pattern, a two-stitch and four-row repeat, makes an interesting fabricwhen worked in one color the Mock Weave Pattern adds interest to the set; but when worked in two colors, the Mock Weave gives the stripes texture.
