Web-Letter Issue 207 – Avenue Cabled Pullover

What first impressed me about Avenue was its non-woolly feel. Living in Massachusetts, as I do, I certainly have nothing against woolly feeling yarns, but it was surprising to me as Avenue is 42% extrafine Merino. The fabric produced has drape and elasticity, and is cool to the touch. That makes anything knit in Avenue perfect to wear in three of our four seasons in New England.

I think this classic pullover from Tian Foley is just the garment to add to my sweater wardrobe. The cable pattern is easy to memorize, and because I love to wear bracelets, the bracelet-length sleeves are a must.

The Yarn

Avenue
42% extrafine merino • 29% silk • 29% viscose

Avenue is a blend of Merino, viscose and silk. The name is a nod to the city feel of this yarn, a perfect blend of downtown sophistication with the casual comfort of a weekend stroll. It comes in eight beautiful marled colors, but the real draw to this yarn is the drape.

From our Fall 2011 collection, Avenue is a collection of five patterns, all knit in the our new silk and merino blend by the same name. You'll find simple silhouettes and stitch patterns, all the better to take advantage of Avenue's marled colorways and sensuous feel.
