Issue 221 – Alpaca Sox Shawl

Alpaca Sox, how I love you...Were I to count the ways, I don't have to look any further than its soft hand, delicate fabric, and massive arsenal of 45 available colors. Alpaca Sox is both incredibly fine and richly textured, with a ply that's soft and loose, crowned by a delicate halo.

Alpaca Sox would make very fine socks indeed, but we love it in warm, drapey, soft accessories too. This shawl from Emily Devlin of the Yarn Garden in Portland, OR is just the thing. Triangular shawls are versatile and hip, and with handpainted, kettle-dyed and solid colorways to choose from, you can knit this one in any expression your heart desires.

The Yarn:

Alpaca Sox
60% Alpaca • 20% Merino • 20% Nylon

Alpaca Sox, CEY s signature sock yarn, is spun from a blend of fibers designed to make a comfortable, warm sock. Alpaca provides warmth and softness, wool adds elasticity and cushion, and a little nylon lends strength and durability.
