Issue 222 Wool Bam Boo Mitts
I am an extreme holiday knitter almost every person on my list gets something that I hand knit. This year, my project of choice is fingerless mitts. With a little determination and the perfect yarn/pattern combination, I can finish a pair in a day. The yarn can't be too thick or thin and the pattern can't be too complicated but must still be detailed enough to hold my attention.
This week's pattern, the Twisted Stitch Mitts from Amy McElwain, is the perfect pairing. Amy thoroughly wrote the pattern (with separate instructions for the right and left mitts!) so we don't have to think too hard--just swatch, then cast on and knit. The smallest size takes just one ball of Wool Bam Boo, and the pattern is written in four sizes bound to fit!
(If you're on my list, I'm sorry to ruin the surprise this year. Don't you hope you're the one getting a pair of Twisted Stitch Mitts?)
