Issue 226 – Hug From Home Throw in Liberty Wool

My oldest daughter started college this Fall and I wanted to make something for her that would remind her of home. So I came up with the idea of the “Hug from Home” throw.

Liberty Wool print was the perfect yarn because not only is it colorful but it is also easy care. We had lots of fun choosing the color together as there were so many beautiful combinations. She tells me that she gets lots of compliments on it and loves wrapping herself up in it. This was a very satisfying project all around.

The Yarn:

Liberty Wool
100% washable wool

Liberty Wool is a super-soft, washable wool available in solid and printed colors. This yarn's balanced twist will make all stitch combinations pop. With all the great qualities of wool and the ease of machine washability, Liberty Wool knits at a gauge that suits many designs and is ideal for children's pieces as well as those for adults.

Also from Classic Elite Yarns, the Accents Booklet

Liberty Wool quickly became one of our best-selling yarns when we introduced it last fall, and has continued to fly off the shelves of the many shops that stock it. It's soft, has a pleasant and even twist, washes up like a charm in the washing machine, and comes in a spectrum of solid and print colors. We introduced ten new prints last spring, and are thrilled to introduce two new colors a month until June this spring, bringing the number of printed colorways to 27!

Liberty has a ton of great pattern support, many of them fun accessories that complement the sometimes wild color shifts. They were so popular (I'm looking at you, Molly scarf!) that we put a dedicated booklet together: Accents. Visit our website to find out where to get these patterns in print or pdf download form. Clockwise from top left, the Molly Scarf, Cable Flower Hat, Striped Feather and Fan Scarf, Martha Scarf, Zip Zag Tam, Easy Striped Hat, Double Thick Socks, and Garter Stitch Wrap.
