Issue 231 – Avenue & Pirouette Vest

It's always interesting to see which yarns designers pair together...Avenue and Pirouette? Who knew! Pirouette is a delicate mohair and bamboo blend in a range of brilliant colors. Avenue, on the other hand, is a blend of merino, silk and viscose, with a tweedy look and virtually no halo. Combined, these two yarns give you a soft fabric with texture, visual interest, and a subtle fuzziness.

This piece from Susan Mills is interesting and versatile. The simple drop-stitch pattern capitalizes on the elasticity of Avenue and creates eyelets for threading ribbon. Tie it in the front and back for a garment, or leave it as is for a scarf. You could even use ribbon or a simple seam at the cast-on and bind-off edges to create a trendy infinity cowl!
